A

An Alison = A song that contains its album's title in its lyrics but does not itself share the album's title; named after the Elvis Costello tune, "Alison," which features the lyric, "my aim is true," the title of the album on which the song appears. See also: MMB.

BFOS = "Best Flashback of Set"

BOS = "Best of Set"

Breakout = Any song or clip that is new and out of the blue. See also: Bustout, Gomer.

CG = "Capital Gold," a British radio station, poplar among the 10@10 Clubhouse.

Crankypants = Term used to refer to someone in such a bad mood that no sort of musical delight could make a smiley face appear in their posts.

Collective Soul = "The sonic equivalent of a bowl of unsalted farina."

DDT = "Drive's Deep Tracks" - an internet-only substation of Chicago's WDRV, The Drive.

DDTrina = Term used to refer to a DDT Katrina.

"Dude, It's Prog Rock!" = Term used to joyously welcome any progressive rock appearance in any set.

Fake Jazz = Term used to refer to jazz music that isn't, e.g., BTO's "Blue Collar, "Marc Almond's, "The City," most Michael Franks songs; the term never applies to anything written, produced, performed, and/or conceived by Messrs. Becker and Fagen (either co- or independently).

Fake Reggae = Term used to refer to reggae music that isn't, e.g., 10CC's "Dreadlock Holiday."

Frink Points = Imaginary points with no intrinsic value, which anyone can award for a feat of pop culture wizardry. Usually listed as the prize for the first person who can answer a spur-of-the-moment trivia question.

Gomer = "I think we should call any song or clip that is new and out of the blue a 'Gomer:' 'Surprise, surprise, surprise!'" See also: Breakout, Bustout.

Guilty Displeasure = The contrapositive of a Guilty Pleasure, a Guilty Displeasure is a song you can't stand that is by general consensus highly regarded, and you are willing to state this for the record even at the risk of your rock-critic credibilty; example: Mshray's distaste for the Double Fantasy album. See also: Guilty Pleasure.

Guilty Pleasure: A song that a majority of listeners would by consensus term a HFH, but which you the individual are still fond of and are willing to declare so publicly (regardless of the recriminations); example: Mshray's continued enjoyment of all things Wang Chung. See also: Guilty Displeasure.

HFH = "Hit from Hell" - A former hit song that now makes everyone cringe, quintessentially represented by Debbie Boone's "You Light Up My Life;" a subset in this category is the HFH - WGAGB (When Good Artists Go Bad): a Hit From Hell created by a Hall-of-Fame caliber artist, quintessentially represented by the Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney duet "The Girl Is Mine", (all together now "...that dog-gone girl is mine...")

Jarreau Hands = "Jarreau hands" are like "jazz hands" except that they're brought much closer to the mouth, as if the words coming out of the mouth are physical objects that the singer is serving on a tray like a gift. Al Jarreau is the only singer known to regularly employ this tactic.

Katrina = Term used to refer to a song that has reached overplayed status in 10@10 sets; named after the Katrina & The Waves smash hit, "Walking on Sunshine."

An MMB = "Miss Me Blind" - A song that contains the title of the artist's previous album in its lyrics; named after the Culture Club tune, "Miss Me Blind," which features the lyric, "kissing to be clever," the title one of the group's previous albums. See also: Alison.

Narada = A song that Dave plays frequently that the listener does not ever remember hearing at the time during the year in question; named for Narada Michael Walden, whose "I Should Have Loved Ya" is a Dave favorite that no one remembers hearing back in the day.

PSA = "Post-set Album" - the album you decide to listen to after a 10@10set; normally the album was released in the same year as the year of that day's set.

Sally = Term used to refer to an audio clip that has reached Katrina status; named after the "you like me, right now, you like me!" quote from Sally Field's acceptance speech at the 1985 Academy Awards (she won the Oscar for her performance in Places in the Heart) - a clip that Dave rarely misses an opportunity to use.

Sledgehammer = A song that truly evokes for the listener a very specific & personal emotional experience (e.g. Jackson Browne's "That Girl Could Sing" never fails to make Mshray relive a breakup from his junior year of college); not quite the same as a Zeitgeist, and not a comment on the song-in-question's overall listenability.

SH6 = "Super Hit Six" - refers to a the sixth song of the set; an "SH6" serves as a Hump Wednesday of the set, and is purported to have a magical effect on listeners (unless it's Santana's "Europa").

TANC = "There Are No Coincidences."

There's That Sexy Voice Again = Refers to the appearance of Bryan Ferry's voice in any set

TOTHC = "Top of the Hour Cooker" - used to refer to a particularly arousing first song of a set.

Turkey = A Dave Morey original term for a song that is "dumb, but tasty", and which is the subject of an annual review, usually the day before Thanksgiving; traditional examples include "Mah Nah Mah Nah", "Safety Dance" & "Tubthumping;" not to be confused with a Guilty Pleasure or a Hit From Hell.
